The scoring criteria

The calculation

Each applicable, mature check earns its verified points. Partial results earn partial credit. Failed, pending and unverified checks earn zero. Emerging checks do not count. Checks that require an absent interface are marked N/A.

Each layer is the points earned divided by the points available, with bonus signals capped at the layer maximum. Discovery contributes 20%, Access 30%, Usability 40% and Payments 10%. Non-applicable layers are excluded and the remaining weights are scaled to 100%. Alternative payment protocols count once. The final result is rounded to a whole number.

The same rules apply to every business. A report, its share card and its leaderboard entry always use the same score.
