The right tool supplies a missing contribution. Before considering a paid service, describe the input you have and the output you need.

Compare like with like

Two services may use the same category label but return different results. Compare coverage, output format and any stated limitations. Check whether the result fits the next step without extra interpretation.

Understand the purchase

Read the price and relevant terms before use. Determine whether the amount is fixed or bounded by a maximum, and whether the service’s access conditions fit your business.

Consider the information being sent

Use only information the task needs and your business permits you to share. A capability match does not establish permission to send a document or customer record to an outside provider.

Plan for an incomplete result

Decide what a failure looks like and how it should be handled. If it is unclear whether a service completed, check its status before repeating an action that could create another charge or external effect.

Keep the larger objective with the agent

Buying a tool contribution does not outsource responsibility for the whole task. The agent and the business still need to evaluate the result and decide how to use it.
